They are the Authority, and no-one messes with them.

At least that's what they like to think. Now, Jack Hawkesmore, Apollo, the Midnighter, Swift, the Engineer and the Doctor are about to get a wake-up call.

However big and mean you are, there's always someone bigger and meaner.

For a start there's planet Earth itself. Uh-huh. That's right, the very Earth the Authority are trying to protect.

It's not happy at all with the job they've been doing and it's about to hit back with every natural disaster it can muster.

Then there's a rogue Doctor, one with a taste for mass murder, and a completely new Authority.
