Brian Moore has been a regular member of the most successful England team in the history of rugby union, and is his country's most-capped hooker and vice-captain.

Off the pitch he has campaigned strongly for the abolition of the game's amateur laws, over which he has frequently clashed with the RFU committee and its secretary.

Ferociously competitive as a player, Moore has also been convicted for assaulting a member of the public, but continues to practise as a London solicitor. This autobiography of a controversial sporting figure has been written with the help of Stephen Jones, whose "Endless Winter" won the 1993 William Hill Sports Book of the Year Award.
