See all formats and editions

This is an integrated intermediate English course for teenage and adult learners from lower intermediate up to pre-First Certificate level. The series aims to provide practice at grammar and to expand students' understanding of the major structures of English.

It contains a wide variety of reading texts ranging from authentic articles on topics such as sexual stereotyping, to extracts from British and American literature.

These texts are analyzed in depth to aid development of reading skills.

In addition, the series is designed to promote vocabulary awareness and enrichment through exercises and encourages development of spoken English through roleplays, group work and fluency activities.

Communication units at regular intervals focus on specific areas of communicative language.

Integrated writing tests intended to develop students' writing abilities and awareness of the framework of continuous English prose are also included. This volume provides extra practice in key grammar.

Each unit is linked to the corresponding unit in the student's book. A students' book, teacher's book, workbook, cassette and video complete the package. The authors have also written the "Strategies" and "Discoveries" series.
