Belgian artist Panamarenko is probably best known for his machine sculptures in homage to man's early attempts at flight.

Detailed studies of every conceivable method, device and mechanism of propulsion lend his insect-like creations an air reminiscent of the drawings of Leonardo da Vinci.

These and his other machines revive the nostalgic image of the pioneer, the adventurer and the explorer.

Author Nico Orengo captures the mood of the artwork by creating a children's rhyme about a little winged character called Pepto Bismo (a sculpture of the artist himself), a free spirit who travels by air and sea to Venice.

On his return to Antwerp, Bismo test flies his new "Unidentified Flying Objects".
