The intercultural performance reader

This volume gathers together artists and scholars from around the world to provide an international overview of the new field of intercultural performance. has enormous potential for open dialogue between cultures, though the best-documented perspectives are those of Western artists such as Peter Brook, Richard Schechner, Jacques Lecoq and Ariane Mnouchkine.

The "Reader" raises new questions and debates by placing these views alongside those of artists from African, Maori, Chinese and Indian theatre.
