This three-volume set provides coverage spanning the World War I period.

The volumes contain chapters covering major topics related to the period, including the roots of the war, causes of U.S. involvement, the Espionage Act and Sedition Act and weapons of mass destruction.

They also include profiles of the major players of the period, including: Woodrow Wilson, Kaiser Wilhelm II, Henry Cabot Lodge and Justice Oliver Wendell Holmes, Jr.

Primary sources including: diaries, speeches, letters, journals and memoirs that are related to the period are also covered.
