The central theme of this book is Christian feast culture against the broad background of modern multidisciplinary liturgical studies.

The study almost exclusively focuses on Western Christian rituals, in which within that Western perspective, broader ritual contexts are brought into discussion.

The book is divided into four Parts. Part I is an introduction ad sets the tone of the study.

Part II contains a series of systematic, theoretical explorations which present diverse but also converging disciplinary approaches.

Part III contains historical explorations and Part IV comprises of studies in contemporary liturgical practice.

This books marks the conclusion of a six year study called, Liturgical Movements and Feast Culture.
