One of the most discussed and elusive female characters in the Russian literary tradition, Alexandr Pushkin's Tatiana Larina is the progenitor of an impressive list of heroines, ranging from Tolstoy's Anna Karenina to Pasternak's Lara Guishar in ""Doctor Zhivago"".
