Just The Other Day is a memoir based on challenges and obstacles that author Collins Ombikhwa faced while growing up in Busia, Kenya and after moving to America in 2016. He reveals how he overcame each and every problem that he underwent. He emphasizes on the importance of never giving up. He says problems are what make us stronger, and we should learn to solve them as they come. He also stresses on the importance of mental health and suicide prevention. Finally, he asks the question, "Why hate each other?" He cites examples of tribalism in Kenya and racism in America, and he finally concludes that each and every one of us is equal despite our differences.
