The Missionary

1980s British comedy written by and starring Michael Palin.

Recalled to London in 1906 after spending ten years in Africa, Reverend Charles Fortescue (Palin) is given a new and no less difficult mission.

He will now be required to bring the word of the Lord to Soho's ladies of the night.

Thus he goes forth amongst them, bringing help and assistance, offering food and shelter, while warmly receiving the bounty of their gratitude.
