The European dimension in regional changes : the Avon and Cantabria experience

In October 1989 a British/Spanish intergovernmental colloquium on educational exchange was held in London.

It took place against the background of joint interests in Europe and a committment to extending and improving bilateral contacts in education.

Subsequently representatives from the central Bureau and the Spanish Ministry of Education met to identify specific ways of improving the quality and quantity of educational exchanges between the two countries.

This booklet provides details of the objectives of the co-operation agreement, the process of developing the contacts and the activities undertaken.
