Human/Technology Interaction in Complex Systems - v. 8

This series reports on advances in theory and applicants associated with understanding and improving the relationships and performance of humans and technology in complex sociotechnological systems where computer, communications and related technologies are central elements.

Reports of multidisciplinary efforts in complex domains are of particular interest.

Example issues of concern include: the technology-oriented aspects of individual and organizational productivity and performance; global competitiveness and economic development; innovation and technology transfer; industry safety and environmental protection; and cross-cultural differences and "appropriate technology".

Contributions reflect substantive efforts to deal with the complexity of these types of issues, as well as results that further understanding of the phenomena underlying these issues and provide practical insights into resolving technology-oriented tradeoffs and improving complex systems.
