Friendly Fire

Proceedings of an Air Power Group conference that took place on 17 September 2004.

Throughout the history of warfare, there have been incidents of Friendly Fire or fratricide - the inadvertent attack of friendly or neutral forces.

The risk increases in coalition operations and the consequences are more severe with weapons of greater accuracy and destructive power.

The speakers in this conference will examine the causes of inaccurate target identification and possible solutions involving training, procedures and technical aids.
