This revised version contains the format of the previous edition with a first section containing the background, history and controversy surrounding psychological testing.

A second section containing a practical guide to compiling a psychometric questionnaire has been retained.

Much has changed since the first edition was published in 1989, but the controversial nature of testing and the range of people interested in it, has not.
