Essential Music Theory : Level 8

Essential Music Theory Level 8 meets the requirements for the Conservatory Level 8 examination. Subjects included in this level are pitch and notation, including the alto and tenor clefs and short an open score, transposition, including transposition for orchestral instruments, hybrid meters, simple and compound intervals, and scales and modes. Also covered are chords and harmony, including the dominant and diminished seventh chords, cadences in keyboard and chorale style, melody and composition, form and analysis, and history. The book uses easy explanations and has plenty of exercises to work from.
