Extension Geometry : High-Interest Activities Which Consolidate Essential Skills

The aim of this series is to provide pupils with stimulating activities which consolidate essential skills across a number of curriculum areas.The activities in this package lead children to explore the many characteristics of, and relationships between shapes.Clear instructions written in appropriate language guide children in this discovery.As well as gaining insight into geometric concepts, children will be given opportunities to practise and improve their skills in manipulating, ruling lines, cutting, pasting, folding and using a compass.Activities are suitable for children aged 7-12.As children discover the complexities and patterns revealed in this study, it is hoped that their sense of wonder and desire to find out more is stimulated.
