New Horizons: science 5 16 is a complete science course covering key stage 1 to key stage 4 of the national curriculum.

The Key Stage 2 Teacher's File A is the first of two phases that together will cover the entire national curriculum for science at key stage 2, levels 2 to 5.

The file consists of six modules, each covering a different area of the curriculum in the form of clearly explained activities, which introduce, and build on, the necessary scientific concepts at this key stage.

Appropriate copymasters accompany each module to reinforce the scientific concepts encountered.

Each module allows for a differentiated approach comprising both foundation material and progressively more demanding activities for the pupils.

Investigations are incorporated into each module offering ample opportunity to assess attainment target Sc 1 over the full range of levels (2-5).

The Key Stage 2 Teacher's File A has been designed to provide: - maximum flexibility for the teacher, - readily-integrated components for a cross-curricular scheme of work and support for teachers, while encouraging the development of independent learning attitudes in pupils.
