Scotland's living coastline

Based on a conference organized by the Maritime Group of Advisory Services of Scottish Natural Heritage, this volume starts by setting the Scottish coast in a wider European context and reviews some of the most significant coastal processes which continue to shape its character.

It explores a wide range of management initiatives and concludes with contributions which explore the safeguarding of biodiversity, including reviews of some major data inventories and a discussion of the implementation of biodiversity plans.
