Continuum Encyclopedia of Popular Music of the World's five-volume work 'Locations' is the most authoritative reference work on the history and current practice of popular music ever published.

The five volumes form Part 2 of the EPMOW multi-volume work and follow on from the two volumes in Part 1 - Media, Industry and Society (Vol I) and Performance and Production (Vol II).

The EPMOW Locations volumes cover over 200 nation states and are organized according to continental region: Vol III: Latin America and Caribbean Vol IV: North America Vol V: Oceania and Asia Vol VI: Africa and Middle East Vol VII: Europe Entries across continents include discussions on the principle traditions, genres and styles of popular music that have been or are being practiced in particular cities, districts/neighbourhoods, cross-border regions, nation states and diasporic communities around the world.
