Best friends Natalie and Sarah couldn't be more different--racially, politically, and fashionably--having only one thing in common: the love for each other.

After both women graduated from Penn Law School, Natalie leaves her hometown of Philadelphia to work in an upscale corporate law firm in New York, while Sarah stays in Philly to work in the non-profit law firm that their mothers founded.

When Natalie's mother dies, Natalie puts her wants and desires on hold and returns to Philly to take her mother's place at the firm.

Natalie and Sarah's friendship seems almost unbreakable, until Sarah starts dating Natalie's high school crush.

The interracial union causes tension in the friendship and in the workplace.

Natalie, trying to distract herself from the situation, gets personally involved in a case that could put her freedom in danger.

As Natalie struggles with her personal problems and her work-related issues, she is forced to make decisions that could not only impact her life, but the lives of everyone around her.
