Melancholy and Mania
(Musings of a Bipolar Christian)

Peace doesn't come through the things of this world. There is no refining of the flesh, no transformation, manifested by our own efforts and will. This is true for everybody, but more importantly for the lost and afflicted. The lost have no cornerstone until they receive Jesus. As for the afflicted- anybody troubled by the depravity of our human condition, as long as they have been redeemed by the Lamb, hope is never lost.

The broken and contrite sinner doesn't rejoice in their sin. When God convicts them of their sin, He extends the invitation to change an individual's mind about sin. We don't clean ourselves up to come unto the Lord, rather, we change our mind about sin and we turn to Him to wash us clean. The Lord directs our steps once we are saved. We put on the "helmet of salvation" and ask for God to help us each step of the way of living a new life. We humbly come to Jesus to keep us from returning to our old, sinful ways.
