QE2 Anniversary Special

Cunard Line's Queen Elizabeth 2 is the most famous ocean liner in the world.

This autumn this magnificent Cunarder celebrates the 40th anniversary of her launch with what promises to be a spectacular "lap of honour" voyage around the British Isles.

This historic celebration will culminate with another memorable call at Liverpool - Cunard's spiritual home.

To mark this momentous milestone in maritime history - and the QE2's numerous links with Liverpool - we will be publishing a unique book charting the life and times of one of the icons of the modern world.The book will contain dozens of spectacular images of QE2 never before published, together with material from the Cunard Line archive at the University of Liverpool.

There will also be the memories of many Merseysiders who have served on board and whose experiences span the oceans of the world.

QE2's visits to the Mersey have regularly drawn hundreds of thousands of spectators and well-wishers to both banks of the river.
