Henry Lambert is a skinny, completely non-athletic 16-year-old who would much rather stay inside playing video games than do anything that requires interacting with nature.

When his dad tells him that he's being shipped off to Strongwoods Survival Camp, he is less than thrilled.

The facilities at Strongwoods are run-down and a little scary, and there are only three other kids registered (Erik, Stu and Jackie).

To top it off, the one staff member, Max, seems to be borderline insane.

The one bright spot in his camp experience is Monica, a beautiful girl from the nearby music camp.

The final event at camp is the Survival Games and Henry is determined to win, but he's the first one eliminated, right after the game begins.

He walks back into the main building and sees Max shot to death by a trio of criminals.
