Mission in India

As Divine Word missionaries, we have a golden task to spread broader understanding of mission in India. Numerous individual initiatives and common reflections characterise the SVD involvement for newer avenues of mission work. The present conference is an attempt to bring together critical reflections on mission among the SVDs both at the individual and community levels. Missions Education and Research (MER) is the forum that the SVDs have created in the Asia Pacific Zone for furthering reflections, researches, debates and publications on matters regarding vital and contemporary mission concerns. During the past ten years and more, this research wing of SVD is making consistent efforts to rekindle mission researches on mission with special reference to SVD India Sub-Zone. This volume is based on a third national conference organised at Atma Darshan, Mumbai, which borught together the current thinking, contemporary researches, practices, stories and narratives on mission from some of the leading India SVD mission researchers.
