This volume discusses promising new keys to the better understanding of the biological processes involved in the regeneration system.

This is approached by the study of various models of tissue and post-traumatic regeneration from invertebrates to vertebrates at the molecular level.

Investigations into gene expression, the production of signals for cell proliferation and differentiation, antigen expression and cell modulation during regeneration are opening up new research avenues and thus provide new pointers for the comprehension of regeneration and ageing.
