Pathways : Selected Poems

I sit for hours, days sometimes with pen in hand staring at a blank page. Words dance and stumble through my mind like tiny pebbles in a rock slide. I sort through the rubble to find the words worth keeping. The ones that will come together and make some sort of sense out of complete nonsense.

In a lifetime we are lucky if we have written a hundred poems.... Out of which maybe one will be readand remembered. -Vickie Touw, 1982
