From the middle of the 16th century, visitors to Venice were particularly captivated by the splendid sound of multi-choral music-making.

Antonio Vivaldi had certainly also become acquainted with this musical practice and used it as an inspiration for his own work.

In the Concerto in A major the solo violin is accompanied by a complete string orchestra, with a second violin "per eco in lontano" as an echoing voice positioned in the distance.

The composition reflects the transformation from the powerful baroque to the sensitive musical language. Instrumentation:violin, 2. violin "per eco" and string orchestra with basso continuoPV 222-F.I No. 139 RV 552
