Wilfred Dolby Fuller V.C. was a hero of his time. A son, a husband, a father, a miner, a Grenadier Guard and a Police Officer.

Never previously published as a full story, Wilfred's biography is a tale of supreme gallantry and hardship, following him from his time in the 'pits' to his untimely end and beyond.

Share with Wilfred his surprise at winning the Victoria Cross and the public adulation that he experienced on his homecoming. Follow him through his career as a 'Bobby on the beat' in the 1920s and 30s, before reading of his legacy which stretches from Mansfield to Somerset.

Using previously unpublished records and photographs from the archives of Avon and Somerset Constabulary and with assistance from the Guards Museum in London, this is a unique insight into a man whose sacrifice will always be remembered.
