The first three chapters of this text are designed for beginners and trainers and include echocardiographic findings and the differential diagnosis of their clinical causes.

Chapters 4 - 14 are designed for more advanced levels and deal with the diagnosis and evaluation of different clinical problems.

All functional methods used for the evaluation of a particular problem have been individually mentioned with their advantages and limitations.The different echo modes have been used to describe the various findings - M-mode, two dimensional, Doppler and colour flow mapping, and transoesphageal techniques where relevant.This echocardiography guide should be a useful as a reference for physicians and cardiac technicians as well as a teaching aid.
