Images of Yorkshire Coal

This book celebrates the once mighty Yorkshire coal industry as illustrated by the material held in the National Monuments Record in Swindon.

It does not seek to be a history of that industry or comprehensively catalogue the material in the archive.

Rather, it is a personal, and evocative, selection of images conveying the breadth and feel of material that has come together in a somewhat unsystematic fashion reflecting the increasing public awareness and interest in industrial buildings since the 1960s.
