An insight into the rainforests and their inhabitants who make their homes in the most beautiful and most endangered environment on earth, this text bears witness to the fragility of the rainforests as they struggle to survive in the 21st century.Tropical rainforests are found in Central and South America, Africa and Southeast Asia, and are home to half of the world's living species.

The text is divided into four sections - "Water", "Fire", "Earth" and "Air" - exploring the different ecological workings of the rainforests and telling of the need to give spiritual value to the processes of caring for the natural world.
