But put aside the practicalities--these microcars also happened to be exquisitely designed and produced in a crazy diversity of shapes and bright colors.

The Microcars calendar showcases a dozen distinctive vehicles--meticulously restored to their original charm--that were once part of the collection at the celebrated Bruce Weiner Microcar Museum in Madison, Georgia.

A 1955 Inter 175A Berline, whose tapered tail and nose give it the look of a small airplane. And a jelly-bean-shaped Fuji Cabin, one of the few three-wheeled microcars built in Japan.
