Global Economic Prospects and the Developing Countries

This report deals with three issues that are central challenges facing developing countries as they participate in the global trading system.

They include: the expansion of global trade; the appropriate coverage of standards for health and safety, labor practices, environmental protection, and intellectual property rights; and the impact of technological innovations through an exploration of electronic commerce for trade and production in developing countries.
