World Population Prospects

This CD-ROM contains a comprehensive set of demographic indicators for the period 1950-2050.

Included are: the full set of indicators, estimates and projections of national populations by five-year groupings; gender, as it appeared in volumes I and II of the World Population Prospects 2002 revision; and datasets displaying results of the 2002 revision available only in digital format.

The dataset figures used for the period 1950-2000 are based on estimates, while those for 2000-2050 are projected figures.

Various variants are applied to the projected data to allow the user to observe data patterns under different scenarios.

Variants applied include: low, medium, high, and constant fertility variants, No-AIDS variant, zero-migration variant, and instant-replacement-fertility variants.

The data is also presented in different facets i.e. by country, region and globally. System Requirements: PC with Windows, 32 MB RAM (minimum).
