This is a largely place-based investment process that is of great importance for the public, business and policymakers.

Despite significant public interest, little is known about the economic impacts.

This volume aims to address this gap by looking at the characteristics of the Chinese planning system and its evolution process, with a specific focus on infrastructure, location and cities.
