A century of change : Caste and irrigated lands in Tamilnadu, 1860s-1970s

The volume explores more than a century of agrarian change in the irrigated areas of Tamilnadu since the 1860s.

Based on archival documents, it attempts to offer a new interpretation of socioeconomic transformation of agrarian society under British rule and to interpret the agrarian changes of the post-independence period.
