The World of Myth : An Anthology

Approaches to mythology usually catalogue the least important aspect of the subject - the endless names, places, stories - as if they had no significant context beyond the particular cultures in which they emerged. "The World of Myth" provides a more universal context by examining the relevance of the myths of the ancients.

The collection is largely Greek and Roman, but there are also a significant number from other cultures, for example Indian, Native American, Egyptian, Norse, and African.
