Proceedings of the 4th European Conference on Intellectual Capital: Arcada University of Applied Sciences, Helsinki, Finland, 23-24 April 2012

These proceedings represent the work of presenters at the 4th European Conference on Intellectual Capital (ECIC 2012).The Conference is hosted this year by the Arcada University of Applied Sciences in Helsinki, Finland.

The Conference Chair this year is Jukka Sarakka and the Programme Chair is Jan-Erik Krusberg, both from the Arcada University of Applied Sciences.The opening keynote address is given by Professor Pirjo Sthle from the Futures Research Centre at the University of Turku in Finland.

Pirjo will be looking at How Intellectual Capital is Creating our Future.

The second day of the conference will be opened Professor Karl-Erik Sveiby from Hanken School of Economics in Finland who will address the issue of Challenging the Innovation Paradigm.

A third keynote will be presented by Dr Markku T. Hyypp from the Universities of Helsinki and Turku in Finland on the topic of Social Capital, Cultural Capital and Intellectual Capital.A primary aim of this conference is to contribute to the further advancement of intellectual capital theory and practice.

The conference provides a platform for presenting findings and ideas for the intellectual capital community and associated fields.

The range of people, issues, and the mix of approaches followed will ensure an interesting two days.128 abstracts were received for this conference.

After the double blind, peer review process there are 60 academic papers, 3 PhD papers and 5 work-in-progress papers published in these Conference Proceedings.
