A Rookie Learning Spanish

Imagine that you are the outsider, trying to fit in with a group of Spanish-speaking people in the United States, Mexico, Spain or Argentina. You are dealing with cultural norms with which you are not familiar. You are trying to decipher a language that to you is comprised mostly of meaningless sounds. You have thoughts that you desire to communicate to them, but you do not have enough vocabulary. Even with the limited vocabulary that you do have, the natives have a hard time comprehending you because of your peculiar accent. Imagine that others from these Spanish speaking cultural groups enjoy playing practical jokes on you because you are their friend, but maybe a little naive. This book includes 23 mostly true humorous anecdotes where I or other rookies crossed the bridge of our experience into friendship, cultural interaction, and trying out the Spanish language of the Spanish-speaking world.
