The Art of William Morris and His Firm

This gazetteer covers museums, galleries, houses and churches in Britain and overseas.

It also identifies the different artists in the firm's major windows, and gives the phone numbers needed for access to locked churches.

The book is divided into separate, easy-to-follow sections on Morris's Red House, early paintings and embroideries, the 1862 Exhibition, wallpapers, printed and woven textiles, carpets, tapestries, tiles, major stained glass for houses and churhes, furniture, the Green Dining Room and St James's Palace, as well as houses decorated by the firm.

It includes illustrations of works by Morris, Burne-Jones, Madox Brown, Rossetti, Charles Faulkner, Webb, Benson, George Jack, May Morris and Dearle.

Some of these are reproduced for the first time. The book should be of interest to art students as an introduction to Morris and the firm, and as an aid to further research.
