Coimhearsnachd na Gáaidhlig an-diugh

This collection of essays - with seven papers in English text and four papers in Gaelic text - is drawn from lectures and discussions held at Rannsachadh na Gaidhlig 4 at Sabhal Mor Ostaig, Isle of Skye, in 2006.

Gaelic language is discussed in relation to: the media, orthography and grammar, definitions of the Gaelic community, a new research agenda for Gaelic, Gaelic and the economy, Gaelic in primary schools, and Gaelic-learner teachers and their training needs.

The book also includes a comparative essay on community and national aims for the Irish language.
