Ernst Ludwig Kirchner - Mountain Life : The Early Years in Davos 1917-1926

Accompanying the exhibition at the Kunstmuseum Basel September 27 2003 - January 4 2004, this monograph shows how Kirchner, after Segantini and Hodler, became the third great painter of the Alps.

The book finishes with works from the years 1925-1926, when Kirchner first travelled to Germany again, leaving his union with his nature-oriented reality of life behind.
