Camping California's National Forests (First ed.)

California's 19 national forests contain 20 million acres of public land.

They stretch south from the glacier-covered volcanoes of the southern Cascades to the serrated granite spires of the Sierra Nevada to the desert foothills of Mexico, and east from the rugged Pacific coastline at Big Sur to the forested shores of Lake Tahoe.

Within these diverse lands lie a cornucopia of outdoor recreational opportunities.
