This text is designed to give law students in the Caribbean a basic text on torts, accompanied by extracts from West Indian cases and the most important statutory provisions.

Emphasis is placed on those topics most commonly litigated in the West Indies - negligence, nuisance, defamation, trespass to the person, employers' liability and passing off.

Although primarily conceived as a text for students reading for the LLB degree in the West Indies, practitioners should find the book useful in the way in which it brings to light many hitherto unreported judgements.
