A moment they never expected. A Christmastime forever changed.

Clara and Lieutenant Joseph Winters are making plans, plans for Christmas and for moving their family to his new assignment: Wheeler Airfield in Oahu, Hawaii.

When Joseph's base becomes a primary target in the surprise attacks of December 7, 1941, Clara faces a world not only turned upside down, but a life forever changed.Throughout the days that follow, Clara must sort through the aftermath on the home front and one of the most difficult Christmases in 20th century America, while at the same time desperately trying to discover the fate of her husband.

As Christmas draws ever nearer, the silence overseas makes Clara fear that their family will not only be separated for Christmas, but may perhaps be separated forever.
