When Mystic, Issie's beloved dapple-grey pony, is tragically killed at a gymkhana event, Issie is devastated and swears she'll never ride again.

But soon she's faced with a new challenge when Blaze, a spirited young Arab mare, abused by its previous owners, arrives at the Chevalier Point stables, and Issie is charged with training her.

At first Blaze is too spirited for Issie to handle, but with some hard work and loving care, Issie finally wins Blaze's trust - and even enters for the next one-day-event competition to compete against her friends.
