Parental perspectives on care proceedings : report to the Department of Health on the research project

This is one part of a project evaluating the impact of the Children Act on the use of the courts in child protection.

It explores parents' and other adult family members experiences using a sub-sample of post Children Act cases, and looks at both their personal accounts, and the detailed court and local authority files.

Interviews with approximately 150 practitioners are included, as well as interviews with judges, magistrates and justice clerks.
