Virtual Castle : The Scottish Wars of Independence - Windows/Macintosh

This CD-ROM, which is compatible with Windows and Macintosh, offers the user a virtual reality experience of life in a mediaeval castle.

It also examines the Scottish Wars of Independence through the politics and personalities of Scotland and England from the reign of Alexander III to Robert I.

Features of the CD include: high-resolution VR scenes of exterior and chambers; descriptions of architectural features; 3D animated "guided tours"; information on contemporary sources, including Barbour; printable characters; and period music.

The material is suitable for children from seven years upwards and would be useful in the pursuit of Environmental Studies.
