Conflict and the Decline of Pastoralism in the Horn of Africa ([New ed.])

This work represents a collective effort by ten social scientists with experience in the Horn of Africa to portray the marginalization and deprivation of the pastoralist population in that region.

It includes case studies from the Sudan, Ethiopia and Somalia and Kenya, as well as a case study from Mali, included for purposes of comparison with another region of Africa.

The central issue addressed by the contributors is the political consequence of the decline of pastoralism in a region ravaged by conflict.
