The fourth title in a series of limited-edition, low-cost books, devised and launched by The Institute of Psycho-Analysis in London.

The books feature recent lectures on important psychoanalytic themes as part of the London Public Lecture series, organized by the British Psycho-Analytic Society.

These collections have been chosen and edited by British psychoanalysts, members of the British Psycho-Analytical Society and experts in the areas of psychoanalytic work concerned.

This collection consists of five articles, rooted in Freud's "The Interpretation of Dreams" (1900), by contemporary analysts who are all members of the British Psycho-Analytical Society: Ignes Sodre, Victor Sedlak, Sara Flanders, Gregorio Kohon, Peter Fonagy and Rosine Jozef Perelberg.

The papers cover: dreams and the use of omnipotent and manic defence; the dream space and counter-transference; concrete thinking, the dream space and eating disorders; dreams, symbolic impoverishment and the question of the Other; dreams and borderline patients; and "the oracle" in dreams.
